Driftwood

All driftwood has been boiled to reduce harmful bacteria.

I use two basic types of driftwood. The first is regular driftwood collected from the lakes in the Triangle area. While all driftwood has been boiled, this driftwood may still float, although with time, most driftwood eventually sinks.

Mopani wood is heavier and typically more varied in color. Even after boiled, the tannins are much stronger and therefore when placed in an aquarium, you will achieve more of a blackwater look as well as the health benefits for particular species of fish.
